Sitting Still

Sitting Still

Pico Iyer, author of The Art of Stillness: Adventures of Going Nowhere, has said “Sitting still is a way of falling in love with the world and everything in it.”

Sitting still has always been a challenge for me. There seems to always be a mountain of distractions, both necessary and unnecessary. Pico Iyer’s book reminds me that sometimes to sit still is the most important thing in the world and yet the hardest thing in the world. I need reminding that sitting still is the most useful thing I could “do”

Take the time to breathe in and out; to sit in stillness and release; to open your heart and receive—in the whirlwind of our modern lives, making room for stillness helps us get back in touch with our bodies, our minds, our souls, our world and everything in it.

Put your phone down and turn away from the screen.

Close your eyes.

Sit still.

It would make me so happy to know you sat still.

Let’s sit together. 🧘🏽‍♀️
